Kurt and Maria are putting on an evening of Tango that
includes dancers. They are playing a
movement or two of the Tango Sonata, and some of my Piazzolla
arrangements. I think they have a
cellist playing my parts.
Wendy Stern’s (of the Cicada Chamber Players) daughter
will be performing Tango Sonata at the Nyack Library.

performing a CD release concert. The CD and concert both include “Quatrefoil.”
I, myself,
for the first time will play Quatrefoil, and probably Trilaterus, and/or some

The
Elektra Chamber Players performs “Trilaterus,” and works by Bolling,
Piazzolla, and others.
Members
of the New York City Ballet Orchestra played a section of “Trilaterus,” among
other works, including the premiere of “Fugue in Bb on a Truly American Theme”
at a very short private concert to support the Arthritis Foundation during their annual lobbying convention. They
lobby congress each year for research money for new treatments for this
debilitating disease that affects millions of Americans.

I
arranged some songs by Ivor Novello,
and Noel Coward for a ballet by Tom Gold for a private performance.
The
second movement of “Tango Sonata” was also choreographed to, and performed by
Kurt Nikkanen and Nancy McDill
“Tango
Sonata” for violin and piano was performed by Alexander Simionescu
and Jeremy Denk
at the
“Performers of Westchester” series.
